By Nadine Duke
Nadine here, a 20-something South African girl, living a sort of chaotic, but, no doubt, a wonderful life. Welcome to my blog and when I say blog I don’t mean endless paragraphs of creative & excellent journalism [ Did I say that right? ]. Love them or loathe them, there’s something hypnotic about a personal kind of lifestyle blog that has us all binge reading in privacy. Let me warn you if you are easily offended by the truth or the occasional cussing, this is the wrong place for you.
So here’s what you need to know [ Balls… ] Where do I even start? Basically, throughout my life, I have been health conscious, into fitness [ kinda… on my good days ], confusing it all up with tequila shots & nachos kind of girl. I’m not into building a career or making it as some kinda independent, ‘don’t need no man’ badass girl boss. I just enjoy simple things in life – quality time with loved one, healthy mind and body, great wine, cold gins & a curiosity for the unknown. I have this sort of over the top idea of saving the world ‘hello my name is Nadine and I’m vegan, there I said it’ and right now I’m just figuring out as I go, if I ever do, I’ll let ya know right here on this blog. I just don’t take shit too seriously.
Which brings us to Altered Bodhi, It’s basically a little bit of everything. Out of the blue, straight to the point, tell-it-like-it-is. It’s not about being obsessed with fitness, yeah it’s important, but so is sex, doesn’t mean I do it every day, twice a day. Or about a great eating plan [ trust me there is none ] it’s more about balance – tequila and tofu, and being imperfectly perfect. A great quote,
“Nothing in the world is ever completely wrong. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.”
—Paulo Coehlo, Brida
As for ‘Stay Gold’… Well basically be true to yourself, this space is everything I know and love and I write like I talk every day. It’s filled with topics that I am passionate about and genuinely went to the extreme to find out, research and even try out. I am no expert, and no I don’t have a million qualifications. This is what works for me, it’s not perfect but it’s sustainable and keeps me happy! Everyone is different, take some advice [ or share yours ] and alter it to fit your own kind of lifestyle.
That’s all… Well for now anyway.
See you on the blog.
